BOOKS

As the autumn equinox comes around for another year - winter draws on and it is time to think about doing some writing over the winter months (my wife says it keeps me out of mischief). I aim to start with a book about acupressure and homoeopathy directed at the lay person. This will be 10,000 words tops so will be more like a booklet. It will cover the treatment of first aid and acute conditions using both modalities that can be used at the same time. Because acupoints and homoeopathic remedies are vibrational entities, there is a similarity of vibration on both acupoint and remedy dependant on the symptom picture- for instance one can call ST 36 the Arsenicum Album point as both point and remedy may be used for acute stomach pains etc. I may self publish this one.

I have already written 2 and a bit chapters of the next one -"The Holistic Spine and Skull - Reflections and Associations'. The accompanying poster is already out (I have to upgrade and order another 1000!!). This will be a long text book of around 150,000 words that I've been meaning to do for ages. Details on web site and in a future blog. Those two should keep me busy until the Spring but I also want to write something about Therapeutic Dowsing and Distance Healing - there is nothing on the market that deals with this topic except a few books on dowsing aimed at the interested lay person. Let me know what you think about these. Really looking forward to this winter!!!!!

Spring 2014 teaching seminars

Further to the last blog - I am keen to teach other practitioners my pioneering techniques so that they themselves will be able to teach others in the future. Yes, I know that the word (as in books) will still be around but practical experience is a whole different ball game. So if you are interested in learning with me from 2014 please let me know. The following topics are those that I am interested in teaching:

1. Healing with the Chakra Energy System
2. Light Touch Reflextherapy
3. Clinical Acupressure in Musculo-skeletal conditions
4. Clinical Acupressure in Stress related conditions
5. Clinical Acupressure in Medical conditions
6. The Holistic Spine

Send me an email (jrcacupressure@hotmail.com) and we'll take it from there.

Medical dowsing

At last April's annual conference of ACPEM I gave a talk and workshop on the various aspects of medical dowsing. It included dowsing with a pendulum, fingers and hands and discussed how one could detect allergies and sensitivities as well as being able to analyse and treat medical conditions. Many years ago in the early 1980's my wife and I practised radionics (black boxes) and also used to make up homoeopathic remedies using a vibration synthesiser. I only used the dowsing faculty if I couldn't diagnose or analyse imbalances in any other way. I pioneered many types of patient analysis methods using dowsing and still teach these today. One thing I am very proud of is the analysis chart I have produced that enables the practitioner to analyse much easier than the long winded ways we used to.

Since retiring from clinical work because of cervical spondylosis and resultant surgery - I have had more time to devote to this art and have already done distance analysis and healing on several clients - with very good results. Full details of how you can take advantage of this are on my web site. It has also been suggested that a book on the whole topic would be one that would fill a gap in the market. There are very many 'wishy-washy' books on dowsing but not one that discusses how to use it in medicine. I well remember the great works of David Tansley - he pioneered many aspects of radionics and its use with the subtle body. I just need the services of a publisher who is willing to take the plunge! Let me know if you think this is a viable proposition.

PS We are now enjoying? hot and sultry weather in the northwest highlands - please go back down south!!

Catch up

Sorry about lack of recent posts and apologies to the scores of you who have logged on to see the latest pearls of wisdom . This is the time of maximum growth in the garden and croft and most of my spare time is spent outside. We are in the throws of building a polytunnel and the land that surrounds it has to be landscaped. I just need the 26th hour in the day.

Good news on the workshop/seminar front. The Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP) have agreed to organize some seminars for me in the UK from this autumn and to award CPD points. This will save me quite a few headaches. The first one is in Calne, Wiltshire on 20-22 September (3 days) and is to be on 'Clinical Acupressure in Musculo-Skeletal Conditions'. I am also hoping to get some more in clinical acupressure off the ground. These will be 2 day workshops in Neurology, Oncology and Stress related conditions. I need to present them to the education committee for ratification and approval. Full details of these are on my web site www.johncrossclinics.com

There is a possibility of me going over the pond to western Canada to the vicinity of Calgary in April/May 2014 to run two or three seminars. Negotiations are still at an early stage.

Whilst the remainder of the UK is roasting in 30 degrees of heat - we in the Hebrides are a little cooler at 15 and cloudy. I know where I would rather be. Catch up some more very soon. Let me know of any issue you would like me to cover. Be good - John

Royal Mail - Grrrrrrr........

I have mentioned this in my web site but will put it here as well. I write of the draconian increase in price of parcels here in the UK since the middle of April. As you may know I sell my A1 size posters in a cardboard tube - measuring 24 " by 2" in old money. Before the price hike it cost £2.70 to post inland by Royal Mail - it has now risen to £5.65 - thus more than doubling the price in an instant. The actual cardboard tube costs me a minimum of 65p, so I should charge £7.30 to post one poster - who on earth is going to pay that on top of the cost of the poster. I may have to stop selling posters by post and just try for sales at seminars. Does anyone want a few hundred posters?????? We are out to dinner with some old friends tonight - what a nice change. Be good - John

Hello Again - Catching Up

Although it is late April, it seems that here in the UK winter is still with us. I have just been out with the dog and it seems just like a cold January out there with cruel biting winds and sleet. It can only get better!! I was at the cricket at Lords last week to see my beloved Derbyshire play Middlesex (just prior to travelling to North Wales to the ACPEM conference) and play was interrupted through snow, thunder and lightning.

I'm still ploughing on with the latest book - the Holistic Spine and Skull - it should be in manuscript form in October when I'll try and procure a publisher - I am not going down the very expensive self publishing route - once bitten .........I have also given a few local lectures as well as the ACPEM lecture and workshop on Therapeutic Dowsing.

The 3 day seminar on Light Touch Reflextherapy is still ON on 14-16 June in London although it could be called off if there are no more takers. I shall be in London in any case on 13th for an ACPEM Education meeting. Sadly, the 6 day seminar on 'Clinical Reflextherapy in Pain Relief and Stress' had to be cancelled - mostly due to the fact that folks these days only seem to attend CPD courses. I am attempting to procure this through a few sources.

I shall try and keep up a twice weekly blog concentrating on complementary bodywork - as well as my fascinating life - thanks for reading.

Time for a break

I have decided to take a wee break from writing this blog for a few months until the Spring. Two main reasons - Firstly I am coming up to a very busy time of book and article writing which will take a great deal of time. Secondly, and more importantly, I am unsure as to where this blog is leading. I started it off with every good intention and have written over 100 of them in almost 3 years. The hit count of over 7000 isn't exactly overwhelming and I sometimes feel as if I am writing into a black hole - there is little or no feedback. I would be more than happy to write a blog on subjects that people want - so during the break please indicate what you want me to write about!!!

Please look at the Notices page of my web site www.johncrossclinics.com for any startling developments or on www.chakrapuncture.org if you want a question answering about that system. If there are any queries whatsoever I am always very willing to answer them. I receive an average of 20 emails a day from practitioners and patients all over the world. Until 2013 then - au revoir.  - JRC
